Abstract

‘Life skills’ is certainly a well-used term, but it is also a concept that has largely emerged and been explored over the past 20 years or so. Its origins align with a raising of concerns, at educational, business and political levels, about the current and future roles of education, and how education might need to be reconceived within a ‘new era’ if learners might have a best chance of prospering in a future society.
