Abstract

The graphic novel, ‘Pebbles and Ripples’, is a unique vehicle to reflect on and capture some of the most salient lessons from Lancaster University’s research culture and practices. Using inclusion as a springboard and connecting to questions around ethics, sustainability, places, communities, and more, the nine stories contained here provide only a small sample of where and how is the research by LU academics seeking to if not already making a positive difference. The stories also provide a reflection on the challenges, discoveries, and insights that pressing for change involves locally, nationally and internationally. Pebbles and Ripples was commissioned as part of the project Reimagining Research Practices: Towards a Sustainable, Ethical and Inclusive Future, funded by the Wellcome Trust, grant reference: 228123/Z/23/Z.
