Abstract

Envision the Transition is an emerging creative methodology that engages participants to envision our own roles as change-makers and agents of the transition. We understand transition as the targeted and relational small or bigger actions towards systemic change in climate justice terms. We are applying our own exploratory version of Utopia as Method [6], in which we understand the imaginary reconstruction of society in pluriversal terms and from utopian archeological samples collected from Traditional Ecological Knowledge artefacts. The workshop designed comes from our ideation on how to apply Transition Design framework [5] embracing the question of how creative and designerly methods move from the problem-solving approach to a model of relational networks of care by embracing thinking-feeling [3] – so the workshop explores participation as pleasurable, playful, illogical, irreverent, vernacular, and regenerative. In short, we are re-thinking both participation and design, as practices that aim to achieve collective change, must integrate and rehearse the spiritual and the political dimensions.
