Abstract
Are AI technologies really so transformative as to need a rethink of how we understand international relations, or is the hype destined to deflate in the face of existing reality? And given the pace of technological change, can IR theory or academic debate even keep pace with real-world developments in a way that can influence or support policymaking? Or is it destined to remain behind the curve of technological and geopolitical developments? Five scholars offer their take on these questions.
