Traveling wave tubes (TWTs) are attractive devices for high transmission power at the Ka-band for enabling high capacity links both for satellite and terrestrial communications, despite the substantial advancement of GaN solid state amplifiers. A new topology of double corrugated waveguide including a bridge (BDCW) between each couple of pillars is introduced. A single section TWT has been simulated as test for high power Ka-band TWT. A BDCW interaction circuit in the frequency band 26 - 29.5 GHz has been fabricated and measured to support an electron beam voltage below 10 kV, to use a compact power supply.
