Whilst the education system in Northern Ireland (NI) has achieved success in sustaining relevant digital inclusive education, this is also true, of course, with respect to its individual schools. Examples of effective successes are identified through the NI ICT Excellence Awards , which has run over the past ten years, with some of the latest school practices presented and awarded in June 2024. One of those examples of successful practices explored how a school was developing computational thinking and computing across the school and across the curriculum for young people. Taking forward that example, to provide details of how this was and is undertaken (in 2025), this case study of the post-primary school in NI – St Malachy’s College - demonstrates how it has achieved successes related to five key sustaining factors.
