Abstract

This chapter reflects on how the concept of mobilities , as developed in the context of the New Mobilities Paradigm (Sheller and Urry 2006), has been put under pressure by its recent annexation by humanities disciplines. This is has resulted in an exciting expansion of the field, but there is also a risk that the specific insights/conditions that inform the NMP are forgotten.
