The Harris Museum in Preston commissioned a design report and construction of a Harris 'Makerspace' in their existing ground floor computer room in the Grade I listed building. This required the audit and spatial planning of all machines, and the proposal of a modular, multi-adaptable and mobile secure making and display system. The furniture system is based on a single repeating module, which has capacity to shrink or grow according to use. The project also involved the design and construction of a mobile, kinetic exhibition space which could be relocated to any room within the museum for the purposes of display. The Preston Makerspace accommodates a full calendar of local community interest groups who use the space to discuss, plan, craft and build together.
