Abstract

The highlights of the Preparatory International Conference on Aging, Disability and Independence (Pre-ICADI) were discussed. The purpose of the Pre-ICADI was to prepare a comprehensive account of state-of-the-art Assistive Technology R&D and Smart Home R&D in the US and in Europe, and to identify strategies for future research and development. The specific objective was to support and develop the technical program for the ICADI Conference High Technology Track (HTT), one of seven multi-sector Conference tracks. The participants in the workshop were leading investigators from the US and Europe.
