Abstract

This, the first article in a series, summarises how the research and practice concerning mothers caught in a cycle of recurring care proceedings has progressed in the time since the Family Justice Council 6th Annual Debate in December 2012 on the way mothers subject to successive compulsory removal of their children are treated by the system. Considers the challenges ahead and how they can be met.
