Abstract

Following a number of revisions to the European Treaties, it is clear that transparency of decision-making is a central democratic aim of the EU and is viewed as a means of engaging an individual with the decision making process. It is against this backdrop that a number of information and consultation rights have developed, none more so than when an employer is faced with having to make collective redundancies.
