Full text not available from this repository.Abstract
This article charts the importance of corpora of documents held by the Barbados Department of Archives, which will be of huge importance to historians and a variety of other scholars and users, but which can only be rendered so if they can be captured in such a way as to allow full, systematic transcription and data-analysis. This opens up contested ownership, access, intellectual property and copyright issues, here explored through the author's personal experience.
