In the July 2009 issue of Biostatistics, we announced arrangements intended to encourage authors of papers in the journal to embrace the concept of what has come to be known as Reproducible Research. In that issue, Roger Peng, one of our Associate Editors, outlined these arrangements, which were deliberately set out as an opportunity, rather than an obligation, to make data and/or code available whereby interested readers could, if they wished, reproduce or “modify” any published analysis (Peng, 2009).
