Fenton has Special Individual Circumstances and Early Career Researcher status. Fenton initiated and curated Practice Reflected at the Nuffield Theatre to provide artists with a formal academic context in which to reflect on process and practice, alongside practitioners and academics. The artists featured are internationally significant in the field of new performance, touring extensively, including selection for international tours by the British Council (Lone Twin, Uninvited Guests). Papers and creative responses were selected by panels chaired by Fenton and consisting of artists, industry professionals and academics. Core research questions: What are the politics and problematics of the collaborative creative process? How might performance-makers collaborate across time, space, even generations? What is the role of narrative in performance? What place do traditional narrative forms/structures take in contemporary performance, and what new kinds of narrative might it explore (especially in the light of filmic experimentation and new technology)? What is writing for performance? What kinds of writing does devised practice enable? How might we expand the notion of writing for theatre and dance? Wider users of this research are emerging artists, postgraduate students and early-career academics. From a small internal Lancaster University grant ('3,800), Uninvited Guests, Lone Twin and Goat Island successfully applied for public funding for the reflection enabled by Practice Reflected. Speakers have included national and international artists (Goat Island, Lone Twin, These Horses, Anne Bean, Nina Tecklenberg, Augusto Corrieri and Ricahrd Gregory), and academics from Dartington College of Arts, Royal Holloway, Goldsmiths, Roehampton, Lancaster, Salford, Bristol and Glasgow Universities. Speaker details and abstracts are available via the CASCPP website. RAE_import_type : Other form of assessable output RAE_uoa_type : LICA
