Additional Information:
This paper, reviewed by 2 international referees, has two authors due to the considerable size of the work involved. The research proposal, written by Sime with technical and content experts, included design and evaluation of an innovative virtual learning environment for radiopharmacists worldwide. Originality is in Sime's contribution to the pedagogy and instructional design based on Mindful Learning Theory, O'Donoghue filmed and edited the video based learning resources. The research was carried out as part of a 4 million Euro, European Community project with 8 partners. Lancaster provided the theoretical basis to the design of the knowledge-learning environment, developed video based resources and evaluated the learning environment. The environment was evaluated as 'very useful', 'easy to use' and provided a real sense of community, a network of colleagues to ""rely on"". It is now used in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, since 2003, in Canada and UK and by practitioners worldwide. RAE_import_type : Chapter in book RAE_uoa_type : Education
