Abstract

A rise in quantities of web-based resources on 'Grids for Learning' is not being matched currently by a rise in effective use by teachers and learners. This paper explores features and factors which can lead to effective use of such resources for teaching and learning.

This article, on an aspect of e-learning, was accepted in an internationally peer-reviewed journal targeted both at practitioners and researchers. The principal author, with support of an additional author, analysed through theoretical perspectives, ways in which teachers, advisers and researchers from across 8 countries in the EU, Hungary and the USA described and illustrated uses of on-line resources. The findings were gathered through an initiative concerned with how teachers and learners could use on-line environments to develop and share resources focusing on aspects of cultural learning.
