McClintock, Peter V. E. (1971) Thermal conduction in He II below 0.8 K near a field-emission current source. In: Proceedings of the Twelfth International Conference on Low Temperature Physics :. Academic Press of Japan and/or Keigaku Publishing Co., Tokyo, pp. 101-102.

A drastic reduction in effective thermal conductivity of a column of He II has been observed when a field emission current source, immersed in the liquid, is switched on. This result can be interpreted in terms of vorticity generated near the emitter and appears to shed light upon the complex current - temperature characteristics of field-emission in He II.
