Studies of the effects of external noise on phenomenological descriptions of non-equilibrium, macroscopic systems have stimulated wide interest in recent years. Often the most realistic applications are to nonlinear chemical, biological or physical systems with one or more fluctuating parameters. Such parametric or multiplicative noise, as it is often called, frequently represents couplings of system to a nondeterministic environment. In this report, we confine the discussion to one-dimensional systems X(t), with a single noisy parameter.
