Abstract

The Cyber Leadership Forum: Responsible Leadership for Digital Futures "The PRME initiative was launched to nurture responsible leaders of the future. Never has this task been more important. Bold leadership and innovative thinking are needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals." (Antonio Guterres- Secretary-General (2017 - Present) United Nations. The establishment of the Cyber Leadership Forum (CLF) emerges from a simple but increasingly urgent reality: cyber security is no longer just a technical challenge. It is a leadership challenge. It is an organisational challenge. It is a societal challenge. As digital technologies, artificial intelligence, interconnected systems, and emerging cyber risks reshape economies and societies, organisations require leaders who can navigate uncertainty responsibly, build trust, foster resilience, and create positive societal impact. Yet many existing cyber conversations remain dominated by technology, compliance, and risk management, often overlooking the human, organisational, and ethical dimensions of digital transformation. The Cyber Leadership Forum was created to address this gap. Situated within Lancaster University Management School's commitment to responsible management education, civic engagement, and societal impact, the CLF reflects the University's ambition to act as a catalyst for positive change. As a PRME signatory, Lancaster University recognises that the future requires leaders who are not only technically informed but also ethically grounded, socially responsible, and capable of balancing innovation with accountability. The Forum therefore represents more than a research initiative. It is an interdisciplinary community of practice, research network, and knowledge exchange platform that connects academics, practitioners, policymakers, executive learners, and industry leaders around a shared purpose: To advance Responsible Cyber Leadership for a secure, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable digital future.
