Abstract

There is described a method of monitoring an optically readable security element (20) using an image capturing device (10). The method comprises reading S1 the optically readable security element (20), extracting S2 an identity from the optically readable security element (20), determining S3 context information related to the reading S1 of the optically readable security element (20) and transmitting S4 a signal based on the identity and the context information.
