There is described a method, performed by an image capturing device, of determining an identity of optically readable security element. The optically readable security element comprises an optically readable first portion encoding a first part of the identity and an optically readable second portion encoding a second part of the identity. The first portion and the second portion are physically separate and moveable with respect to each other. The method comprises reading the optically readable security element by reading the first portion and the second portion and extracting the identity from the optically readable security element.
