"Tears spun to silk, love cut to legend." Based on ancient Chinese mythology. In a fishing village by the South Sea during the Ghost Festival, a Jiaoren (merfolk) washes ashore, destined to be a sacrifice. A young weaver secretly cuts him loose and takes him in. They share a quiet life without words—weaving, drying silk, and listening to the rain. But when the villagers finally hunt the Jiaoren down, the weaver stays behind at the altar, trading his life for the Jiaoren's. One life for one life. In the end, the Jiaoren weaves a last bolt of blood-red silk and returns to the sea alone. The film is currently on the festival circuit and is not publicly available.
