Abstract

This case study presentation outlines the development of the Uncover Progress (UP) Programme, an access initiative for Black heritage British students, through reflections from Emmanuel Adeyemi Abere on his internship. During his internship, Emmanuel designed the programme proposal, drawing on a research project he had previously contributed to as a student researcher in 2022/2023. Eleanor Dove will then provide an update on the pilot year of the UP Programme, highlighting how the involvement of student mentors has sparked additional work across the University. The Uncover Progress Programme, and the creative collaborative journey behind it, demonstrate the impact of student voice in race equality work and show how students can drive genuine institutional change.
