Abstract
This is a work directed and written by Zhang Yunhe, selected for the University of the Arts London (UAL) Showcase x Queer Britain collection "Being Seen". This narrative fashion film (18mins) compares the openness of ancient times with the isolation of the present in combination with the social pressure of the CURRENT LGBTQ+ community in modern China. Synopsis of the story: On the night of the Chinese Ghost Festival, Dong Xian controlled Chaoning's body through the mask to help him face himself bravely and completed a homosexual confession. It also awakened Yunan's awareness of his sexuality.
