Juraic, Beri (2024) Silent Walk. [Performance]
Full text not available from this repository.Abstract
A silent walking everyday performance for 20 participants and guide. The roles between the participants and the guide are porous. This walk is about perceiving the scenery, the landscape and listening to the sounds both inside and outside our bodies. The participants are given instructions - no mobile phones, no photos. During the walk there might be other passers-by who might greet the participants, but participants are asked to just nod or gesture. The walk is conducted at a normal pace, but the group will be stopping at a few points. At the end of the walk, there is a feedback session. The premiere took place at the Fairfield Nature Reserve in Lancaster. It was curated by Beri Juraic and inspired by the works of Tokyo-based performance artist Takuya Takemoto, local communities and nature. This walk can be conducted freely at any location with beautiful nature.
