Abstract

This study examines the TALOS wave energy converter that is equipped with multiple PTOs to enable multi-axis wave energy capture. In order to optimize the control of multiple PTOs, a WEC-Sim model of TALOS has been used to quantify the impact of PTO stiffness and damping and to understand the influence of separately actuating individual PTOs rather than actuating all PTOs in the same way.
