Abstract

The literature on networked learning has tended to consider both its benefits and its challenges from the perspective of the learner. Building on recent work considering the identity issues raised for educators by the adoption of reflexive pedagogy, this paper explores similar issues of ‘identity undoing’ arising from a move to networked learning. Both approaches have the potential to deliver innovative and creative ways of facilitating leadership learning (the context within which they were utilised by the author) – but only if educators are willing and able to accept the implied role shift. The paper concludes with some thoughts on how educators might need to be supported in making the transition to new educational paradigms.
