Abstract

At the end of this chapter, readers will be able to: • Describe different institutional contexts for entrepreneurship • Discuss the role of culture and infrastructures in entrepreneurship practice • Describe the differences in entrepreneurial practice between countries and between regions • Discuss the evolution of entrepreneurship when the institutional environment continues to improve, with a focus on China • Discuss changes to the characteristics of entrepreneurs over time in China • Discuss the relationships between strategic choices and entrepreneurs’ expertise to create a new venture and survive • Explain changes to financing of new ventures over time in China • Explain policy issue related to technology business incubators (TBIs) and technological entrepreneurship practice
