Abstract

Micro-erosion meter measurements on the balustrade of St Paul's Cathedral, London, already taken annually from 1980 to 1985, were repeated in 1990. The new data continue to show no significant changes in rates of surface lowering over time. This sustained level of weathering has occurred despite decreases in SO2 concentrations in central London in the same period.
