Abstract

Healthy subjects screened for psychiatric disorder were evaluated for prepulse inhibition (PPI), and completed a large comprehensive schizotypy questionnaire, the Composite Schizotypal Traits Questionnaire (CSTQ). Correlational analyses were performed on PPI and factor scores of the CSTQ, which represent different dimensions of schizotypy. Predicted correlations between PPI and the factor thought to relate to positive symptomatology were not obtained. These data, in conjunction with previous findings, suggest that reductions in PPI may not be related to specific categories of psychotic symptoms.
