Abstract

A simple method for modeling the performance of an inductive output tube (IOT) is described. The model reproduces the characteristics of an IOT with good accuracy over the full dynamic range of the tube.

IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices
Additional Information:
An extended version of a conference paper which excited unusual interest from UK and US industry when presented and an invitation to submit it to the journal. This was the first paper to offer a method for calculating the performance of this type of tube which is of increasing practical importance. The method in the paper is sufficiently accurate for conceptual design calculations and it provides valuable insight into the design of these devices.
