| Additional Information: | Special Individual Circumstances. The John Moores Liverpool 23 is a painting prize that Kane was selected for, for the third time. It is a biennial prize that is a major component to the Liverpool Biennial. This national exhibition aims to present significant painting being made in the UK today. Co-exhibitors include: Paul Winstanley, Lisa Milroy, Mark Fairnington and Alexis Harding. Kane exhibited the painting 'Flowers in the Wood' which expanded upon her interest in fantastical landscapes and utopias as mediated through a range of art historical and contemporary references. This exhibition was well reviewed (see attached). To accompany the exhibition, a catalogue was produced (ISBN 1902700287) and this painting was later included in Kane's 2004 solo exhibition at the Emily Tsingou Gallery London and was later sold to a private collector.
